RN/RM Boardriders Beginners/Intermediate
Coaching Weekend MAY 16-17th 2009  

1. Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the second Boardriders Beginners Weekend of 2009.  The event will be held at Gwithian beach on the weekend of 16-17th May 2009. 

2.   The course is open to all service and MOD personnel based at RN/RM establishments and their families.  All personnel interested in attending the course should print off and complete the performa below and return it to Lt Williams, Bosworgey Farm, St Columb Major, Cornwall TR6 9SD, along with a cheque for £30 per person made payable to “Culdrose Central Fund” no later than Friday 16th April 2009.  Any queries please contact Lt Williams on 07834527401 or RFA FORTGEORGE-AVSO/ 440-avso@a.dii.mod.uk or a member of the committee as detailed on the website.  It is advisable to book early as these weekends are becoming extremely popular and are limited to 40 personnel (which is continually being achieved, first come first served basis). 

1. The aim of the weekend is to promote and introduce personnel to the exciting sport of surfing, and to further improve the skill of personnel who have previously attended a Beginner’s Weekend.  Please state on the form as to your skill level as we can now offer video analysis and further intermediate coaching for those who are at a progressive level.  
2. Due to the uncertainty of the weather and surf, it may be necessary to change the venue on the day; therefore personnel are required to provide their own transport. 
3. All equipment will be provided by the club (e.g. Boards, Wetsuits), however participants are advised to bring their own wetsuits, boots and gloves if possible. 
4. The muster point will be Gwithian TOWANS car park (near Hayle, just off the A30) at 0900 on the 16th May 2009 and be advised to ensure you have enough change for the car park (approx £4.50).
5. Included in the price will be 6 hours plus off quality surf instruction and a barbecue on the Saturday night to be held at the Red River Inn, Gwithian.

8.   If you decide you enjoy the sport of Surfing, membership to the RN Surf Association is available at £20 running Jan – Jan; application forms will be available at the weekend and on the website.  This cost includes free hire of club boards & wetsuits, BSA covered insurance at all RN Surf Association events (and a RNRM Boardriders Club T-shirt when membership is applied for at the Beginners Weekend.)  Membership will also entitle you to participate in the Club Training Camp and the bi-annual Club expeds.  During 2008 the RN/RM Boardriders competed against the South African Longboard Club in Port Elizabeth & Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa.
9.   Club merchandise will be available at the weekend with T-shirts at a cost of £12 and the coveted RN/RM Boardriders hoodies at £25.
